Water main installation closes city streets in Merritt

The City of Merritt is advising residents of a few street closures that may affect your commute to work.

Motorists are reminded that until Feb. 27, roads will be closed on Charters St. between Granite Ave. and Quilchena Ave, as well as Blair Street between Granite and Quilchena.

City work crews are installing a new water main in the alley parallel to Quilchena Avenue.

There will be traffic control personnel on site to assist with any emergency crews that will require access to the area.

Drivers are asked to follow the detour in place and to avoid the area.
