The City of Merritt is again reminding homeowners that time is running out to book your free water metre installation.
These water meters are FREE OF CHARGE to homeowners with no charge for this basic installation; however, the deadline for the free installations is March 20.
After this date, installations will then cost $900.
The city has contracted Neptune Technology to install or upgrade the water meter at every residential property in the municipality. According to the city website, appointments can be made to fit your schedule.
This is a mandatory program in accordance with Waterworks Bylaw No. 2392, and endorsed by the Province of BC through a provincial grant.
The City says, water meters are “proven to promote water conservation, help make utility bills more equitable, and help identify and address leaks in the system.”
To book your appointment, check out the City of Merritt’s website at http://www.merritt.ca
