MVA causes seven hour power outage in area

There are very few details regarding a motor vehicle incident that left more than 12 hundred residents without power on Sunday.

The accidents occurred early Sunday morning on Highway 97C, which led to downed power lines affecting traffic in both directions that connect Merritt and Logan Lake.

Drive BC reports that two-way traffic began to flow again just after 2:00 p.m. (Jan. 11). B.C. Hydro said that power was restored to the 1289 customers affected at 2:30 p.m. after they spent seven hours without electricity.

There are no reports of any injuries from the motor vehicle incident, and whether charges would be laid.
