Vehicle incident halts traffic on Coquihalla Highway north of Merritt

Drivers heading from Merritt to Kamloops are being asked to travel on Highway 5A for the time being.

DriveBC first reported a vehicle incident closing all the northbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway north of the City of Merritt at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 24).

Drivers are told to expect major delays. Another update is due at 12:30 p.m. Residents can check on the status of the stretch of Highway 5 here.

A snowfall warning is in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops to Merritt as Environment Canada is forecasting 10 to 15 centimetres for the stretch of Highway 5 Wednesday.
