High streamflow advisory in effect regions including the Coldwater River

With the recent heavy rains and the atmospheric river that has struck parts of Vancouver Island and the Fraser and Skagit valleys. the B.C. River Forecast Centre has announced that a Flood Watch for the Fraser Valley has been issued, as well as High Streamflow Advisories for five regions, including the Coldwater River.
The news was issued on the City of Merritt’s website.
The B.C. Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship released a statement on their website stating, “Rainfall amounts are unusually high for this time of year, with up to 100 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. The next period of heavy rain is anticipated overnight on Tuesday and through the day on Wednesday, with up to 100 mm in the Lower Mainland and potentially more than 100 mm of rain east of Hope. ”
