Charges considered following trucks – power pole collision

Merritt RCMP confirm that charges are being considered after a lengthy power outage caused by a motor vehicle hitting a power pole in Merritt on Sunday.
Staff Sgt. Josh Roda confirmed and B.C. Hydro confirmed that approximately 8:46 p.m. on Nov. 30, a pickup truck struck a hydro pole at the intersection of Houston St. and Nicola Ave, which knocked down power lines in the vicinity.
Roda said no injuries were sustained due to the accident and that the collision is still under investigation. He added that charges under the Motor Vehicle Act are being considered.
BC Hydro confirmed that they dispatched crews after receiving the report and that the power was restored to the grid by 5:03 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1.
