Light Up Parade highlights today’s Christmas Week Activities

It’s day five of the 2025 Merritt Country Christmas activities.
Beginning this afternoon, it’s the first day of the giant Christmas Craft Sale at the Merritt Civic Centre, beginning at 2 p.m., with vendors from throughout the region displaying their wares for the holiday season.
Then, tonight, beginning at 7 p.m., the annual Christmas Light-Up Parade features a visit from Santa Claus. The parade line-up begins at 5 p.m. along Canford Avenue. From there, the parade will turn left onto Cleasby, then right onto Coldwater Ave., then onto Chapman St., then right onto Coutlee Ave., then left off Charters Street onto Quilchena, then end at the United Church.
Following the parade, youngsters can have their pictures with Santa free of charge at the Civic Centre beginning at 8 p.m.
The Country Christmas Week activities conclude Saturday with day two of the Craft Fair, along with pictures with Santa and activities for the children, all happening at the Merritt Civic Centre.
Last night, a packed Merritt Civic Centre enjoyed some of the very best entertainers in the area for the annual Community Concert, featuring performances from all age groups, including the Snee Brothers, the Nicola Valley E Free Church, Wayfaring Strangers, and more.
