Pedestrian sustains injury after accident in downtown

Emergency officials were called to the scene of an accident on Friday afternoon in downtown Merritt, where a pedestrian was struck by a truck.

The incident occurred at the crosswalk at Nicola Ave. and Voght.

The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries as the truck was turning left.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital, while the driver of the truck was issued a violation ticket.
