Police are looking for witnesses to help figure out what led to a single-motorcycle crash on Highway 97C between Logan Lake and Merritt.
According to BC Highway Patrol, a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle with two people on board crashed on Highway 97C north of the junction with Highway 8 at around 2:15 p.m. Monday (Oct. 27). The collision closed the stretch of the highway for the afternoon.
In a news release issued Wednesday morning, police say the driver of the motorcycle, a 37-year-old man, was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. However, his passenger, a 39-year-old woman from Logan Lake, was hospitalized with life-altering and life-threatening injuries.
“Alcohol and speed are being investigated as contributing factors,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin. “Police need your help to learn more about the motorcycle rider’s behaviour in the hours and minutes leading up to the collision.”
Anyone who saw the motorcyclist in the minutes and hours before the collision, or has dash camera video, is asked to call BC Highway Patrol – Kamloops at 250-828-3111 and quote file (2100) 2025-3634.
