5A north of Merritt reopens after Semi-truck rollover closes highway

Highway 5A has been reopened after a semi-truck rolled over early Wednesday morning, closed the stretch of highway in both directions on the north end of Nicola Lake.

DriveBC first reported a vehicle incident on Highway 5A north of Nicola River Road, nearly 25 kilometres north of Merritt, shortly after 1:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Photos posted to social media show a semi-truck that rolled over on the stretch of Highway 5A with its load spread along the roadway.

There are no reports of any injuries, and the investigation is ongoing. The highway was reopened on Wednesday at 6:30 am.
