The Trans Canada Highway is closed in both directions north of Hope.
DriveBC reported of a vehicle incident nearly two kilometres south of Yale at around 7:55 a.m. Friday (Sept. 4).
Video posted to social media at around 7:15 a.m. shows a semi-truck on fire and a damaged pickup truck on scene.
Another update is due at 10:00 a.m. Friday. The closure of the stretch of Highway 1 coincides with the closure of the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.
Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton and Highway 99 from Lillooet to Pemberton remain open for drivers travelling between the Southern Interior and the Lower Mainland. However, DriveBC tells drivers to expect significant delays.
