The recent resignation of Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland and the fall fiscal update which was almost $22 billion dollars more than forecast, the member of Parliament for the riding of Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola says Canada is in trouble.
In his weekly news letter, Dan Albas called the Fall Economic Statement devastating for Canadians. He noted that in previous fiscal updates, the Liberals had firmly guaranteed that the deficit for the past fiscal year would not exceed $40 billion. Then on Monday it was announced the deficit for 2023-24 reached $62 billion—almost $22 billion more than the Liberals promised to spend last year.
Albas, along with many of this Conservative collogues are calling on NDP Jagmeet Singh to stop propping up the Justin Trudeau government and vote non-confidence at the earliest opportunity.
