Cents hand Posse first loss in Princeton with comeback win

Sam Giangulano’s overtime goal completed the comeback as the Merritt Centennials edged division rival the Princeton Posse 7-6 Wednesday night in the Cents final game before the holiday break.
The Cents lead 1-0 after one and 4-3 after two periods. However the Posse scored three times in the third to take a 6-4 lead before the Cents staged their comeback.
Rune Carlson and Jacob Bishop each scored their first KIJHL goals in the victory with Rhett Serfas, Dylan Ruff, Taye Shukin and Troy Horn chipping in with singles.
Matt Perron made 38 saves for his seventh win of the season which was also the first home loss for Princeton this season.
The Cents are off until Dec. 28 when they travel to Osoyoos for a 7 p.m. contest with the Coyotes.
