The 2024 Merritt Country Christmas week of activities continue this evening with a time honoured tradition in the Nicola Valley-the annual Community Concert.
As in past years, the event will be held at the Merritt Civic Centre with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Concert organizer Kurt Christopherson recommends that concert goers should get there early to ensure their seat.
“We have such a wonderful show lined up again this year with some new acts and returning acts as well,” Christopherson said. “We are delighted that tonight’s show will also include a huge number of children performing for us so that’s going to be exciting.”
Christopherson added that the musical guests include the Merritt Community Band and Choir, the Evangelical Free Church Choir and Children’s Choir, the Wayfaring Strangers, a brass trio, and much more.
There is no charge for tonight’s Community Christmas Concert at the Merritt Civic Centre.
The Country Christmas week of activities kicked off Monday with the annual Christmas tree light-up at Spirit Square followed by Tuesday night’s Holiday Movie “The Polar Express” at NVIT .
It was standing room only on Wednesday for the annual Love to Dance Christmas Recital “Lights! Camera! Dance! featuring participants from three years-of-age to 13-years-old.
