Second emergency room closure in three days at Merritt Hospital tonight (Nov 18)

For the second time in three days, Merritt residents will once again have to deal with not having emergency room services at the Nicola Valley Hospital.

Interior Health announced the closure will begin at 7 p.m. this evening (Nov.18) and remain in affect until 8 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 19.

As has been the case recently, Interior Health, DID NOT, give an explanation for the 18th emergency room closure of 2024.

The emergency room was also closed this past Saturday Nov. 16 until Sunday Nov. 17 for 25 hours.

Patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops.

The health authority also notes that all other inpatient services will continue as normal at Nicola Valley Hospital.
