Cents center Sam Giangulano claims forward of the week honors from KIJHL

Merritt Centennials center Sam Giangulano has been named the top forward in the KIJHL
for the week ending November 10.
Affectionately known as Sammy Gee by fans and his teammates, the sniper had four goals
and five assists in three Centennials victories last weekend through the Kooteneys.
The 5-9, 158-pound forward had a short-handed goal, and an assist in the Cents 7-3 win over
the Nelson Leafs on Friday Nov. 8.
The very next night (Saturday, Nov.9) he scored the game-winning goal and chipped in with an an assist in their 6-2 win over the Castlegar Rebels.
Sammy followed that up with two goals (including the game-winner) and three assists in
third period of their 8-6 comeback win against the Grand Forks Border Bruins.
Giangualano leads the Cents with 10 goals and is tied for the team lead with 19 points in 18 games and ranks sixth amongst all KIJHL rookies in points.
The Centennials next contest will be Friday night when the Fernie Ghostriders visit the
Nicola Valley Memorial Arena at 7 p.m.
