ENVIRONMENT CANADA ISSUES WEATHER ADVISORIES FOR REGION

It could be tricky for motorists on the highways today as Environment Canada has issued a pair of weather advisories for the area on Saturday.
First a rainfall advisory has been issued for the Trans-Canada between Eagles Pass to Rogers Pass.
A long episode of rain, at times heavy, which could possibly bring between 50 to 100 mm of rain to the area which could result in water pooling, swollen rivers and creeks and there’s an increased risk of washouts, rockfall, and landslides due to heavy rainfall.
There is also a Special Weather Statement for the Coquihalla from Merritt to Hope today. The area could see prolonged rain and gusty winds today.
Storm totals are forecast to reach 40 to 70 mm which could bring water pooling on the highways, swollen rivers and creeks , as well as power outages possible from tree damage due to winds.
