Final day of advance polling today leading up to Saturday’s election

Today is the last day for Merritt area voters to take advantage of advance voting in the upcoming B.C. provincial election.
Reports from across the province show that advance polling numbers have exceeded expectation with Elections B.C. reporting that over 171, 381 people showed up on day one of advance polling on Oct. 10..
Here in the Fraser Nicola riding which includes Merritt, the heaviest traffic of advance polling was on October 10 when 2122 cast their ballot. Since then the number of advance ballots have decreased to:
- 1763 ballots cast on Oct 11,
- 1024 ballots cast on Oct.12
- 763 ballots cast on Oct.13
Those on the ballot include Tony Luck of the Conservative Party of B.C., Francyne Joe of the B.C. NDP and the Green Party’s Jonah Timms.
Advance polls are set up at the Merritt Civic Centre today from 8 a.m. until 8p.m.
