BREAKING: Second closure in seven days extended until Tuesday for Nicola Valley Hospital

The emergency room closure at the Nicola Valley Hospital that was to end this morning was extended until Tuesday morning.

Merritt and area residents are advised that due to limited physician availability,  emergency services will be remain in place until  8 a.m. Tuesday, October 1.

The original closure was set to end on Monday at 8 a.m. however Interior Health extended the closure on Sunday afternoon

This marks the 14th emergency room closure for the Nicola Valley Hospital this calendar year, after 19 emergency room closures in 2023.

Patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital at 311 Columbia St, Kamloops.
