BREAKING NEWS: Karlson injured and arrested Thursday by RCMP

One of Merritt’s most wanted has finally been apprehended.
Southeast District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy confirmed Thursday night that 37-year-old Ronald Karlson was arrested on Thursday. It is also reported that Karlson was injured during the arrest and taken to hospital. There is no word on the extent to his injuries or how they occurred.
On Thursday afternoon, RCMP once again put out a call for help from the public to track down the wanted man they considered “armed and dangerous”.
Karlson is no stranger to Merritt RCMP.
In June of 2022, he was arrested and charged multiple offences after a foot chase with officers while out on bail from a previous incident that happened in April of 2022 including Unlawful Confinement, Break and Enter, Commit Robbery and Steal Firearms, Flight from Police and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
In 2020, Karlson was also arrested in connection with a home invasion and vehicle theft along with another person.
There is no word yet on when Karlson will make a court appearance.
