No emergency room services for Merritt Hospital for next 25 hours

For the fourth straight weekend, the Nicola Valley Hospital emergency department will experience a temporary closure and for the second straight weekend it’s a 25-hour closure.

The emergency department will be closed today, Sunday Sept 1 beginning at 7 a.m. and remain closed until 8 a.m. Monday September 2nd. The reason for this week’s closure is limited physician availability.

This marks the 12th emergency room closure for the Nicola Valley Hospital this calendar year.  In 2023, the Nicola Valley Hospital sustained 19 emergency room closures.

Patients can access care at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops if needed.
