BREAKING NEWS: Another hospital closure at Nicola Valley Hospital

In what has been an almost a weekly occurrence this summer, Interior Health has announced yet another emergency room closure for the Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt this weekend.

The notice was issued before 10 p.m. on Friday night, stating that due to unexpected staffing issues, emergency service will not be available from 6 a.m.  this morning (Saturday Aug 17) until 8 a.m. Sunday (Aug 18) morning.

This is the tenth closure of Nicola Valley Hospital’s emergency room in 2024.

The Health Authority reminds area residents that patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during this time.
