UPDATED: Out-of-control wildfire reported outside of Merritt now OUT

UPDATED:

As of 2 p.m. this afternoon, the B.C. Wildfire Service warning area reported the small 0.009 hectare wildfire outside of Merritt is now out.

The fire was reported last night and was recognized as out-of-control.

The cause of the wildfire is undetermined however a severe thunderstorm watch was issued for the area on Friday.
