No shortage of events this warm hot weekend here in the Nicola Valley and it starts tonight as the Merritt and District Chamber of Commerce host their fourth Friday Night Market in downtown Merritt.
Your favorite vendors will again display their wares ranging from clothing, baked goods, crafts, local meats, local produce and more.
Environment Canada reports todayโs high expected to be 34 C, Laurie Turmel of the Chamber reminds visitors and vendors to make sure you are protected from the heat.
A special feature for tonightโs Friday Night Market includes a performance of Estry the Illusionist at Spirit Square. This family orientated show is free of charge however any donations will go to the Nicola Valley Food Bank.
The Friday Night Market and the Estry the Illusionist Show both run tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Thatโs not the only fun event happening as the engines will be revving at the Merritt Speedway for the annual Albert Kosolofski Memorial on Saturday and Sunday. The event will celebrate the legacy of long-time Merritt Speedway supporter and racer Albert Kosolofski, who passed away in 2014.
Time-ins begin Saturday at 5 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. then Sunday, time-ins begin at 11 a.m. with the first race set for noon.
