Severe Thunderstorm Warning for region

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Nicola Valley region today.

Heavy rains and windy conditions hit the region mid-morning, and are expected to continue throughout the day.

The region is in desperate need of precipitation as wildfires continue to burn throughout the area.

Motorists are advised to be careful on the roads as areas of water pooling can occur.
