Wildfire burning out of control near Merritt

B.C. Wildfire Service reporting a small fire just outside of Merritt has been discovered and is burning out of control as of 3: 51 p.m. July 14.
The fire is sitting at 0.5 hectares and is believed to be caused by dry lightening.
This is now the tenth wildfire listed in the Kamloops Fire District and the sixth that is out of control. On Saturday five new fire cropped up including a four hectares fire north of Spence’s Bridge and a 1.5 hectare blaze near Stein Valley near Lillooet.
In total, 151 wildfires were reported in the province as of 4:15 p.m. Sunday, July 14 with 61 or 40 percent listed as out-of-control.
