Four birdie on his opening nine holes has Roger Sloan in contention after the opening round of the PGA’s ISCO Championship played in Nicholasville Kentucky.
The 37-year-old Merritt golfer finished the opening round with a five-under par 67, five shots off the lead behind Pierceson Coody.
Sloan finished the day with six birdies and one bogie and sits inĀ a tie for 12th place after being in the first group of golfers to take to the coarse this morning.
Sloan has been gaining momentum over the past few weeks making the cut two weeks ago at the Rocket Mortgage Classic (T-31) in Michigan and at the John Deere Classic (T-61) in Illinois last week.
Prior to that Sloan was struggling to find his game making just four cuts in 12-tournaments. Sloan currently sits 187 in the FedEx Cup standings.
