Airport days returns to Saunders Field on Saturday

The city of Merritt will once again be a hub of activity this weekend with major events sure to peak the interest of young and old alike.

Returning to Saunders Field again this year is the annual Community Airport Day on Saturday.

The Community Airport Day event brings together pilots and planes from all around the province to celebrate the skies with us.

Visitors can take a helicopter rides ($50),  enjoy the classic car show, as well as sample some delicious food from one of the food vendors on hand.

Aviation enthusiasts will enjoy the history exhibit, paper airplane contest, and meet members of the Radio Control Aircraft Club.

The event gets underway at 10 am on Saturday morning at Merritt Regional Airport /Saunder’s Field, 4510 Airport Rd.
