The man accused of pulling a pistol on a clerk inside a Merritt convenience store back in May has been denied bail.
Timothy Cole Pierre, 27, is charged with a variety of counts including robbery, uttering threats and breach of bail in connection following an armed robbery at Bob’s Mini Mart on Clapperton Ave. on Friday May 10.
Shortly before 2 p.m., a man walked into the store and pulled out what looked like a handgun from his waistband.
The clerk turned over a large amount of cash and the assailant fled.
Pierre was identified as a suspect by police using security video from the store. He was arrested following a tip from the public on May 14.
RCMP reported that after Pierre was detained they found material used to make fraudulent cheques, several blank cheques and printed page containing people’s personal information. The arrest also secured eight shotgun shells and a throwing knife inside the bag.
It was also noted that Timothy Pierre was out on bail at the time of the May 10 robbery after being arrested for allegedly stealing a credit card from an RCMP cruiser parked outside the detachment on May 6.
Pierre is due back in court on July 16 on the charges.
