Canada Day Celebrations happening on Monday

The City of Merritt is hosting another fun-filled day to celebrate Canada’s 157th birthday.
As was the case last year, the excitement will be held in Rotary Park.
The days events begin with the annual pancake breakfast, put on by the Merritt Basques Society between 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Merritt Civic Centre. Cost is $5.00
After that head to Rotary park for a packed day of activities which includes:
- 11am – 2pm | Horizontal Bungee & Inflatable Axe Throw
- 11am – 2pm | Face Painting & Balloon Artists
- 11am – 2pm | TBD: Bouncy Castle
- 11am – 2pm | Bike Decoration -Art in Motion Trailer -Nicola Valley Arts Council
- 11am – 2pm | Bike Parade with prizes for different categories.
- 11am – 2pm | Krispy Kremes and Cookies Fundraiser -Girl Guides
- 11am – 2pm | Popcorn, Water, and Juice Concession -Love to Dance Academy
- 11am – 2pm | Snow Cones | Soccer Fundraiser
- 12:00 pm (noon) | Ceremony: Song “O Canada” | Flag Raising | Mayor’s Greeting
- 1:00pm – 2:00pm | Watermelon Eating by Q101 and Copper Valley Mechanical
- 1:00pm – 2:00pm | Games by Hub International Insurance
- 1:00pm – 3:00pm | Live Music: Doug James Band | Rotary Park Bandshell
Due to the Category 2 and 3 fire ban in place throughout the province, there is no fireworks this year.
