Severe thunderstorm warning in affect for region

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for this afternoon for the region.

The weather advisory came in just after ten o’clock this morning.

The weather agency says that conditions are for favorable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads and highways today as well.
