Public invited to engage with elected officials at Council & Community Cafe

Merritt families are invited to the Merritt Civic Centre on Thursday evening for an informal gathering to meet with members of council and city officials during the Council and Community Cafe from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“We (city council) want to see as many people come out and just chat with us, tell us your concerns and what is on your mind,” said Mayor Mike Goetz. “This is a family-event, so we will have activities set up for the youngsters to do while moms and dads can meet with their elected officials.”

In the 2022 civic elections, Goetz campaigned on a open communication with residents of Merritt and he said this is just another way to meet with the locals.

“I campaigned that as mayor, I would be accessible to talk to anybody in our community,” Goetz added. “Here is just another example of council being approachable and we are all under one roof.”

Light refreshments will be served.
