Man found shot to death outside of Shuswap hotel

In a news released issued Sunday (Feb. 25), the BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit say they were called in after a man was found shot to death in the parking lot of the Best Western Hotel in Sicamous.

Sicamous RCMP received the call of a shooting in the parking lot at the hotel at around 4:50 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 24). Police say the death is deemed to be a homicide after officers collected evidence and witness statements.

Investigators identified a distinct looking, black, Mercedes G-Wagon seen driving away from the area of the hotel, last known to be travelling westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP note there will be an increased police presence in Sicamous as major crime investigators will have multiple support units to help in the investigation.
