MERRITT — 20 year old goaltender Karlis Mezsargs joined the Centennials from the Madison Capitols USHL in the off season. Since then he’s been one of the MVP’s of the season so far.
Mezsargs has won three of his last four games good for a record of 3-3-0 and his .916 save percentage looks even better when you pair it with his 3.34 GAA.
In the month of October Karlis donned a sparkling .940 SV% and 2.50 GAA. Good enough for a BCHL Honorable Mention for Players of the Month.
Karlis is a 2003 born goalie standing 6’3″ 185 lbs from Riga, Latvia. He has International playing experience as well as playing time with Tri-City in the USHL and Danbury in the NAHL during the 2022-23 season.
With Karlis’ size and experience he is expected to garner attention from a large amount of NCAA schools.
He will likely get the start tonight (Nov 3) against the West Kelowna Warriors or tomorrow (Nov 4) against the Penticton Vees.
