MERRITT – The Merritt Community Policing Office is hosting a community safety forum tomorrow night.
This gives the community members the opportunity to come in and ask questions, learn a little bit about what can be done around their properties and stuff like that,” said Marlene Jones, Community Policing Office Coordinator. “We often have these conversations and connections with our block watch groups here in town and meet with them at least once a year, but we wanted to offer this out to other community members in case they had any questions.”
Jones said it is nice to educate residents about community safety now that the pandemic is nearly over.
“With things starting to open up a little more now these last couple of years, we had to be a little more reserved with this, but we are looking forward to getting out there again and getting in touch with people sharing education bits and just hearing back.”
There is no registration required and anybody is welcome to head to the Merritt Civic Centre tomorrow (December 6) from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m..
