Province reports ten more COVID-19 deaths Wednesday
VICTORIA — The latest COVID-19 surveillance report from the province’s Ministry of Health shows another decrease in hospitalizations, though today’s decrease is much more modest.
The province says there are 517 people in hospital with COVID-19 Wednesday (Mar. 2), down by six from Tuesday.
There are 73 patients in intensive care, a decrease of 10 from Tuesday.
Ten more people have died of the virus, including two in Interior Health. The province has seen 2,883 total deaths from COVID-19 since the pandemic arrived in B.C.
The ministry is reporting 442 new positive tests Wednesday, including 105 in Interior Health.
Of those aged 12 and older eligible for a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 55.8 per cent have received it. The first-dose vaccination rate is 90.6 per cent for those five and older, with a second dose rate of 86.3 per cent.
