Merritt man charged for multiple offences
Jamie Koivisto has been charged with multiple offences following a theft from a local restaurant in September.
โA man had allegedly walked into the restaurant outside of regular business hours and stole a backpack containing thousands of dollars, personal identification, debit and credit cards. Officers were able to identify the man through video surveillance. He was located and arrested without incident in possession of the stolen backpack,โ wrote Sgt. Josh Roda.
On January 25, 2022, Koivisto was charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 and one count of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. He is set to appear in Merritt Court on February 15, 2022.
Merritt man pleaded guilty to possession contrary to an order
โOn October 5, 2020, a Merritt Front Line Officer initiated a vehicle stop for a burnt out headlight on Coutlee Avenue. The driver was found to be prohibited from driving and was arrested by the officer. Search of the driver incidental to arrest, revealed he was in possession of ammunition contrary to an order,โ stated Sgt. Josh Roda.
On January 27, 2022, Travis Crantz pleaded guilty to Possession Contrary to and Order. He received 1 day in jail and a DNA Order.
