Evacuation order issued as July Mountain wildfire almost doubles in size

The TNRD has issued an evacuation order for 25 properties near the July Mountain wildfire.
Because of the potential danger to life and safety, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued an evacuation order for 25 properties addressed as:
- 5644 to 6705 Juliet Dr.; and
- any other properties located within the area noted on the attached map
The BC Wildfire Service is reporting that the July Mountain wildfire has grown to 760 hectares. This morning the fire was listed at 400 hectares.
The fire was discovered on July 13, and it is suspected to have been caused by lightning.
The BC Wildfire has not updated the ‘Wildfire of Note’ file on the fire since July 19.
