Rollover crash near Merritt kills young driver

MERRITT, B.C. — One man was killed and another injured in a rollover crash near Merritt Saturday (June 19).

In a news release, Merritt RCMP say the crash happened along Kane Valley Road, off the Okanagan Connector, at about 11:30 p.m., when a black Ford F-150 rolled.

Bystanders and emergency responders tried to revive the driver, a 22-year-old man, but without success. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services personnel. He was later released.

The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP are investigating. Anyone with further information on the crash is asked to contact Merritt RCMP at (250) 378-4262.
