Merritt Fire respond to another dumpster fire
The Merritt Fire department responded to yet another dumpster fire in the City on Monday (May 31) afternoon. The fire was behind Railyard Mall.
Merritt RCMP seeking Matthew Hall on province-wide warrant
Mr. Hall is described as an Indigenous male, who stands 5 ft 11 in tall, weighs approximately 190 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Mounties seeking Melissa Hillis on provincewide warrant
Hillis is described as a Caucasian female, who stands 5 ft 7 in tall, weighs approximately 225 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.
Long-term supports needed to brace for impact of more residential school site discoveries: FNHA
In response, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) has implemented free online and phone supports for Tk’emlups specifically, and the rest of B.C. Given the amount of calls and inquiries, FNHA CEO Richard Jock says they will be boosting services for as much 24/7 access as possible and improving the phone line capacity.
Memorial garden planned for NVIT campus
The Conayt Friendship Society has received funding to help build a memorial garden to honour the lives of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.
