Council to again debate development at 3350 Voght Street
In October 2020, Merritt City Council approved amendments to the Official Community Plan and zoning bylaw allowing a proposed residential development to proceed at 3350 Voght Street, near the intersection of Voght and Grimmett.
At the time, the proposed development included 15 townhomes fronting Voght Street and 52 modular homes in a modular home park, which would have vehicular access off Grimmett Street.
This week, the property owner is returning to council asking to once again rezone the land.
“The applicant is proposing to rezone the parcel at 3350 Voght Street from Medium Density Residential (R7) and Residential Modular Home (R4) to Residential Modular Home (R4),” wrote Planning Manager Don McArthur.
If approved, the new conceptual site plan includes e up to 46 modular homes across the entirety of both parcels. This includes community open space, visitor parking and an area for storage of recreational vehicles.
Council will debate the proposal tonight (May 25) at 6 pm.
