In a sad but expected move, Rockin’ River has announced that the 2021 festival will not take place.
“We unfortunately have to announce that we are postponing the Rockin’ River Music Fest for a second year. We are happy to say we will be back in 2022 on the usual BC Day long weekend, July 28-31, 2022 and look forward to bringing the party back to the river,” reads a Facebook post.
“We’ve all been watching the news carefully and seeing what Bonnie had to say and they’ve just not given us any reason to believe that there is any possibility that we could safely put on our festival. Of course public safety has to be first and foremost,” said Organizer Kenny Hess.
“We couldn’t have taken it one day further,” added Hess.
All ticket purchases will be honoured for the 2022 festival.
“For anyone who would like a refund, you will get an email from Front Gate later this week with your option. The refund window will be available for 14 days after you receive the email,” continued the post.
The lineup for the 2022 festival is set to be announced in the Fall, with Kenny confirming they’ve already locked down a couple of big-name headliners.
“We’re already working on getting the best artists for 2022. We already have a couple of amazing headliners,” said Hess.
Hess jokingly teased that the headliners are either male or female, they’re country artists and they’re really good.
