The Merritt Centennials completed their 2021 pod season on Saturday night with a 4-3 loss to the host Chilliwack Chiefs.
The Cents who were put in the unenvious position of being the only team in the pod that had to travel to games finished in third place at 3-17.
The Chilliwack win over Merritt on Saturday ensured that the pod championship would be on the line in the finale Sunday night between the Chiefs and the Prince George Spruce Kings, with just a single point separating the two sides.
In the finale, Prince George would jump out of the gates with three goals in the opening 12-minutes of the contest and never look back, claiming the Chilliwack Pod Crown with a 4-2 victory.
The BCHL did announce that pod awards would be presented following the season for MVP, best defenceman, best goalie, top scorer and more. Expect those announcements in the coming days, along with the Centennials own awards.
