The BC Wildfire Service has updated the status of the Coldwater River wildfire to under control.
The fire was first discovered back on April 15, 2021, and grew to 3-hectares.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
The Wildfire Service has also removed the Saturday fire out past Fox Farm Road from the dashboard meaning that the blaze is fully extinguished.
The Saturday fire could be seen from town and was quickly knocked down by the Merritt Fire Department and the Wildfire Service.
Fire Chief Dave Tomkinson confirmed to Q101 that the fire was threatening structures in the area before crews were able to get control of the blaze.
The BC Wildfire Service is investigating the cause of the fire.
