Merritt announces two public hearings
The City of Merritt has announced a pair of public hearings for April 20, 2021.
The previously approved development along Spring Bank Avenue will return to public hearing on April 20. The second public hearing was called after staff admitted a mistake during the first hearing.
“On April 1, 2021, it was brought to staff’s attention that a submission received shortly before the deadline on March 22, 2021, had been missed from inclusion as part of the Hearing,” said Director of Corporate Services Greg Lowis.
A second hearing will be held to discuss access to the west side of the Merritt Airport.
“In March 2020, the Airport Advisory Committee recommended to Council that Council direct staff to research and prepare an amendment to the Official Community Plan that would allow runway access from properties on the West Side,” said Lowis.
Both public hearings will be held with COVID-19 protocols in place. Anybody wishing to submit comment is required to email publichearings@merritt.ca.
Deadline for submissions – 12 pm Friday April 16
