Council approves letter of referral for new foreign entrepreneur

A new foreign entrepreneur is one step closer to opening up a business in Merritt.

Merritt City Council has approved a letter of referral for Zhang Jumei, following a recommendation from the City’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) committee.

“The province is bringing the current stream of the PNP to the end, and want all recommendations to be submitted,” said Director of Corporate Services Greg Lowis.

The entrepreneur is hoping to open a wine making business in the City.

Jumei still needs to receive approval from the Province and to move through the immigration process with the Federal Government.
