KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) says it forwarding “information concerning potential financial irregularities” to the RCMP.
In a brief statement issued Friday (Mar. 26), the regional district says the move is being made in parallel to an independent financial review commissioned earlier this month. A Request for Proposals (RFP) from companies bidding to conduct the audit was issued on March 19.
The TNRD says information uncovered during the audit “will be forwarded to the RCMP, where applicable.”
The statement goes on to say the TNRD won’t comment further on the issue.
The TNRD’s Board of Directors moved forward with the audit after a Kamloops This Week investigation revealed lavish spending by former CAO Sukh Gill.
