During his weekly call with the media on Thursday (March 18), Dr. Albert de Villiers, Interior Health Chief Medical Health Officer, provided a quick and positive update on the outbreak at the Florentine.
“The Florentine in Merritt that remains at two resident cases. That one, if nothing goes wrong, is starting to be closed, relatively soon, in the next few days,” said de Villiers.
The outbreak was declared on February 18 following the first positive case in the facility, and quickly grew to two cases where it has remained since.
