After finally dropping into single-digits last week, the Merritt area has seen the weekly COVID-19 numbers spike again.
For the week of March 7 to 13, the area registered 15 new cases of the virus.
The 15 new cases is more inline with what the community was seeing during February and follows weeks of five, 19, and 12 over the past month.
For comparison, the Kamloops area saw 42 cases last week, Kelowna recorded 88.
Since the beginning of 2021 there has now been 171 confirmed cases in the Merritt area.
