This past week the Merritt RCMP has seen a significant rise in mischief to vehicle files.
“Multiple personal vehicles parked on Quilchena and Coldwater were allegedly keyed over the past week,” reads the release. “A male suspect was arrested in connection to one of the incidents.”
The police investigation is being finalized and will be submitted to the BC Prosecution Service for a charge assessment.
The suspect is set to appear before the courts first on July 20, 2021.
“The RCMP would like to encourage the public to take crime prevention measures at their homes by taking steps to have sufficient lighting at night and consider the installation of video surveillance cameras if they are able,” concluded the release.
